So while I was on maternity leave everyone kept asking me aren't you bored being home all the time now. Well I haven't been bored! I had a whole list of things I wanted to get done before going back to work so that my days off would only consist of Laundry, dishes, and spending time with my boys! (even though I am sure I will come up with a new list of things to do!)
So the first thing was when we moved up stairs we lost quite a bit of storage space, not that we lost space but I just had boxes of decorations, and things stacked in the office up there. So I had Ryan build me some shelves in the basement. This room was filled with coal since our house had a coal furnace when we moved in. So I posted the coal on KSL and we got rid of that. Then My handy man build me some shelves and I started repacking ( i bought storage tubs for everything) and stacking!
Next I bought me this cabinet at a killer sale awhile ago because I knew I wanted something like this for all of my crafty stuff. So my next project was going through all my scrapbook stuff, gift bags and wrapping, ribbon, material, and other crafty stuff and getting it organized in here. I am pretty excited about this one! It super handy!
The next one was a spring cleaning and organizing for the pantry.
We didn't quite have the funds to remodel this other bedroom upstairs and it doesn't really need that much work. My mom gave us her old carpet from her front room that was in really good shape. So my next project was to get the carpet rolled out (it was almost a perfect fit) and get a bed setup as a guest bedroom, since lots of our friends live so far away.
Also I finished decorating the nursery. I LOVE it!!!
This mobile is pretty darn awesome! Kortnie made it for me!
I have had this picture of my grandpa in a box forever cuz I didn't know where to put it. but I thought the nursery seemed like the perfect place.
So we knew the shelves at the bottom of our stairs were a little sketchy when we moved in but we didn't know how bad til Ryan went to fix them. They were just boards stacked on top of each other. No nails in there at all! Crazy. So he fixed them awhile ago, but I think i was sick and pregnant then so I didn't get them painted. So this was also on my list. They look SOOOO much better now.
And we were waiting to finish putting in the laminate flooring until I got them painted so now we will be able to cover up this spot. We plan to do that this weekend!
So I am not super happy to be back at work but I am glad I finished up my list of projects before I had to go back. (the wood floor not being installed doesn't count because that is on Ryan's list ;)
I am so grateful to my mom who will be watching Otto, it is nice to know that he will be with someone I know I can trust, and he won't be around other kids picking up all sorts of germs. My poor mom though! I am going to work 10 hour days so she doesn't have to watch him as many days. However this mean I am working the same schedule as Ryan. 6am to 4:30pm so we will be dropping Otto off to my Mom at 5:45 in the morning! I feel so bad she has to get up so early! We love her dearly for this!!!
And of course we have to add a few pictures of Otto...
