Christmas Weekend

Ryan had Wednesday off and we got our new carpet that day in the baby's room and up the stairs.  It is such a relief to have our remodeling done finally.  I'm sure Ryan is even more relieved than me!  And I absolutely LOVE how they baby's room turned out! Ry did awesome!

I also left work early on Wednesday for an ultrasound. He looked pretty good.  The ultrasound tech said they would put him at 5 lbs 9 oz.  I think i have heard they grow about a 1/2 pound a week at this point, so if he is born on my due date that would put him right around 7 pounds.  I think i could handle that.

Thursday we both had the day off.  We went to Richfield and visited Ryan's brother Jory.  Of course we had to stop at Burns Saddlery in Salina on the way home!  That night we made my gift for my sister Nicole.  (We draw names and I got hers.)  We were actually REALLY excited with how it turned out so I had to put up a picture of it!  Of course I can't really take the credit for it.  I got the idea from this blog:

Christmas Eve day we had to take my horse to the vet.  We got his teeth floated and a few pulled.  We also found out he has a heart murmur! :( Poor guy isn't doing too well but we are babying him, and I really hope he pulls through.  I'm not ready to say goodbye yet!

And a special thanks to my wonderful husband.  He has one of his own "projects" he wants to do outside that he needs panels for.  He has been putting aside a little money every pay check for the last couple months to save up for them.  And he spent his whole panel fund and then some on my horse!  I love him!

After that we went to Pizza Factory and the movie True Grit for Ryan's little brother Keaton's Birthday.  I highly recommend the True Grit movie.  I loved it!

For Christmas Eve we had dinner at my parents with Jenna, Nicole, and Colby.  It was fun!  Of course we played a game... Apples to Apples.

That night when we got home the crib and changing table had been delivered.  Ryan put the crib together that night.

After that we decided to put together the changing table.

The best part... he needed a rubber mallet to get the job done.  Dang, Santa is good huh?

This thing was complicated so he got about half way and we decided we would finish it later, and went up to visit Ryan's parents.  Keaton got a GREAT BIG amp so he and Ryan jammed out in the basement for a little while.  But since for the most part the songs they know are two different genres, they didn't last too long.

Then we headed home.  And my parents and Jenna came down to visit us.  Ryan and I had been talking about getting a rocking chair for the nursery.  And what do you know ... my mom got us one for Christmas.  It worked out so perfect!

After they left we (Ryan) finished the changing table.

Sunday after church we headed up North yet again.  We went and visited Ryan's Grandparents and then mine.  Then we went to my mom's for a Hogan Family get together.  It was pretty fun, lots of my family showed up.  And we played Apples to Apples again.  It was great to see everyone.

And now the long weekend is over and it's back to work... :(

Snowy Day

Here are a few pictures we took last Tuesday morning.  I guess the news said we got 28 inches that day, and I would believe it we had a TON of snow!  We were an hour late to work that day.  Our back door was snowed shut.  The car was completely stuck so we had to take the truck.  We were in 4x4 all the way to north Payson. And that night when Ryan tried to get the car unstuck so I would be able to drive it the next day, the snow was so deep it broke off our front bumper cover.

Christmas

Our Christmas decorations are kinda pathetic this year.  Our tree requires both Ryan & I to pack it in.   And it is stored in a shed clear out back that you access through the horse corral.  I just didn't think I was up to packing it in this year, and we have been working on our remodel project too hard.  We didn't really want to take a break for Christmas tree or lights or anything.  So I just got our little tree out of the basement and my nativity set and called it good for Christmas decorations this year.  Pretty pathetic I know!

I absolutely LOVE Christmas lights!  Last year Ryan took me up and down every road in Levan to look at lights and I loved it.  So we decided to make it a tradition.  The Sunday night before Christmas, last night, we made some Hot Chocolate, got in the truck, turned on some Christmas music, and headed up and down the roads in Levan.  I tried to take a few pictures of my favs but as you can see they weren't turning out so well.  So i decided to stop worrying about pictures for the blog and just enjoy...

So I love living in Levan, but they were a serious disappointment for Christmas lights this year!   (I know that's hypocritical because we didn't get ours up this year either.)  There was probably only 25 houses with lights up.  What the crap?  So Ryan took me to Nephi to look at there.  At least they pulled through for me!

Baby Shower

Joqell (my cousin) threw me a baby shower on Saturday.  But i will get to that in a minute.  The girls I work with, Jennifer & Gina, were not going to be able to make it to the shower.  We were the only ones in the office on Friday so they decided to throw me a mini shower.  It was so sweet.  They brought breakfast (a delicious crumble cake!) And some gifts and these treats...

This gift was the first piece of baby "gear" i have gotten (and most of my baby gifts are in my mother-in-laws basement until the remodeling is done) so I haven't been able to go through stuff or set anything up to make me oh and ah.  So that night when I got home I had to set this right up!

Thank you so much to Jennifer & Gina!  It was a wonderful surprise!

Joqell's shower was so wonderful.  I got lots of wonderful gifts!  And Joqell and her sister in law made these so cute blocks to spell his name!  Don't you just love them!?  And her other sister in law made the diaper cake! I don't even want to take it apart for the diapers because it is too dang cute!

35 weeks prego

Only 5 weeks left to go??

HOLY CRAP!

 No headaches.  No heartburn.  No throwing up! No swelling.

Baby's heartbeat was 150. 

Blood Pressure was 110/69. Good.

Measuring 33 cm. 

So i guess a little small. They say you should measure as many cm as you are weeks.

At 32 two weeks I measured 33, a cm big, and two weeks later I measured the same.

But at my 32 week appointment he was sitting sideways again so I guess that made me measure bigger.  He has turned down again.  I just hope he stays that way this time!

Baby center describes a 34 week fetus as:

Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. Baby's Room

Getting pretty excited!  The room is getting close to being done!  Ryan is doing such an awesome job! I can't wait to finally get some baby stuff up so I feel a little more prepared!

We got a new window in this room too.  Then Ryan got it all sheetrocked...

He didn't look quite as awesome after sanding this time, but still funny...

Then he framed in a new door to the other bedroom.  This just made it real obvious how terribly unstraight our walls are! But he made it look good because he is awesome like that!

The closet behind him had like a peice of plywood for a door that scraped the ceiling when you opened it but it isn't a normal size door.  So Ryan had to build a door for it.  He is awesome isn't he?!

Now we have all the beadboard up, the walls textured, and the trim work done!  Ryan will get it all painted this weekend, and carpet is getting installed next Wednesday! Yay we will have it done before Christmas!  That was our goal!
